We got only Rs 1,000 crore on an account of revenue deficit. The rest amount was for other purposes including backward area's development. The Andhra state was promised this fund as after State bifurcation, revenue generating capital Hyderabad went to Telangana.

Lucknow: The ruling Samajwadi Party and Opposition BJP claimed Congress party decision of naming former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit its CM candidate for next year's Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh would not cut much ice with the voters.

The decision as an internal matter of Congress party, a senior leader said, It has to be seen as to how Sheila Dikshit can mobilise the congress party workers who have remained demoralized for over two decades.

BJP leader Vijay Bahadur Pathak said the package announced by Congress party is not going to change its policies in the politically crucial state. Congress party chose 78-year-old Sheila Dikshit, as its face for the UP polls considering her strong credentials as CM of Delhi for three consecutive terms.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears set to reshuffle his Cabinet in the July of first week. The cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place before he travels abroad on July 6. The Cabinet reshuffle could take place by July 4.

PM Modi reportedly held discussions with Union finance minister Arun Jaitley and BJP president Amit- Shah in this regard. Utter Pradesh may get more representation as legislative polls are due 2017 year. Among the Candidate names doing the rounds are of  Sadhvi Savitri Bai Phoole, Yogi Adityanath, Satyapal Singh.

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress party Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday expressed concern over the arrest of two Dalit sisters in Kannur district and promised all help to them from the congress party.

Rahul called up N Rajan, father of the sisters and leader of INTUC, one of the two sisters who was put behind bars for allegedly attacking on Other party worker.  The Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala was brought to the notice of Rahul Gandhi. Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday accused RSS of unleashing violence in his region of Pinarayi in Kannur district even as Bharata Janatha party(BJP) alleged Vijayan was spreading lies to cover up the “political violence”.

RSS activists are now concentrating on my village and they were trying to create a negative impression that it is difficult to lead a normal life in Pinarayi, Pinarayi Vijayan told News reporters in a meet the-press meet programme in Thiruvananthapuram. Pinarayi alleged that RSS unleashed violence in Vijayan Pinarayi soon after the election poll results were declared.

Meanwhile, BJP slammed the Cm's statement saying it was Pinarayi Vijayan who was spreading 'lies to public and cover up the political violence'.

The Andhra police forced their way in by breaking the house doors and stopping Mudragada Padmanabham from consuming the pesticide he had kept at beside since morning. AP Police took him to the Vydya Vidhana Hospital, Rajahmundry where hospital doctors washed his stomach as a precautionary measure, and also collected Mudragada blood samples for analysis.

The AP police caned those who were obstructing Mudragada arrest. Mudragada padmanabham followers were also arrested. Mr Padmanabham began his fast in his house room with a pesticide bottle at his side. He was surrounded by his family members and nearly 40 followers.

Mudragada's wife Padmavathi and daughter, son, daughter-in-law and others relatives sat on the fast along with Padmanabham. Mr Padmanabham was demanding a AP Government orders withdrawing the police cases on accused in the Tuni violent incidents at Tuni that led to the burning of two police stations and the Train Ratnachal Express on January 31.
